How the tax authorities are making apartment ownership in Zurich more expensive

Right on schedule with the elimination of the imputed rent value, the Zurich City Tax Office has published its new practice for taxing real estate developers. This tightening of practice will lead to a massive increase in the tax burden.

In today’s NZZ, Samuel Ramp explains why this practice deviates from Federal Supreme Court case law and why it unnecessarily increases the cost of housing construction and should therefore be abolished.
